Jordan Creek- W Glen -Valley W - Valley Junction? Other ?

We%26#39;d like to stay near someplace with shopping, food, etc that will be open on a Saturday evening. We may run around the East Village or downtown during the day but will probably spend Saturday night at a mall or someplace like that. I%26#39;ll have at least one teen with me so that seems like the best option for us. I can%26#39;t tell by looking through the Des Moines Visitors Guide which location would be best. Safe area, etc.

Thank you for any advice!

Jordan Creek- W Glen -Valley W - Valley Junction? Other ?

From what I have seen, Valley West has gone downhill since Jordan Creek opened. Jordan Creek is massive and has every store you can imagine, way beyond Valley West. There are also a ton of good restaurants right at the mall. Valley Junction has a few cool stores, but isn%26#39;t really a %26#39;destination%26#39; type of area like Jordan Creek. It%26#39;s mainly residential. Jordan Creek has hotels nearby. Everywhere is safe though.

Thanks so much for your help. Jordan Creek sounds great, we%26#39;ll plan to stay near there. Thank you!

FYI, there is a Residence Inn on the grounds of Jordan Creek Mall as well as Hilton Garden Inn within walking distance

East Village has electic shops as does Valley Junction. They are both nice places to shop for shops that different from the regular mall routine. There are restaurants at both locations.

Valley West is still a great mall. I strongly do not agree with a previous comment that it has ';done down hill';. It has the anchor stores of Younkers, JCPenney and Von Maur.

Jordan Creek is the new mall here. It is very large and has more of the upper scale shops like - Abercrombit %26amp; Fitch, Black White, Pottery Barn, etc. There are also lots of restaurants surrounding the Jordan Creek area - Red Robin, Champs (at the Mall), Cheesecake Factory (at the mall), PF Changs (mall parking lot), Joe%26#39;s Crab Shack (mall parking lot)- Lots and Lots!!!

There are lots of hotels to stay in here. I don%26#39;t consider most in bad areas of town. You%26#39;ll want to look for places in West Des Moines area and that encompasses lots to choose from.

Hi, I didn%26#39;t see the date you planned to go to Des Moines, so I hope I%26#39;m not posting too late........we%26#39;ve stayed at the Residence Inn at Jordan Creek (my daughter %26amp; I) It%26#39;s a fun area, great for walking around at night. Our room included breakfast, you could sit outside %26amp; eat if you preferred overlooking the ';pond/lake'; and the restaurant circle. It has a lot to offer.
