FUN 'tween' restaurant

I am very familiar with Des Moines and get around town very well.

I am bringing our troop of girl scouts up for a weekend of activities. They are 6th graders, ages 11 %26amp; 12.

I am looking for a fun , unusual restaurant for dinner or lunch.

No chuckie cheese please. We%26#39;ve been to the T Rex in Kansas City and the Rainforest at the Mall of America. (We are a traveling bunch :) )

There%26#39;s a neat little place on the plaza in KC where your food comes to your table on a train.

Any recommendations? Something fun or different?

You could consider All Play next to Wells Fargo Arena. It has food, a rock climbing wall, and an arcade. http://www.inplaydesmoines.com/

Here are a few suggestions:

- The girls can have have a milk shake poured into a glass from far above their heads at Stella%26#39;s Blue Sky Diner in Urbandale.

- HuHot in Clive has a giant Mongollian grill and unusual sauces for novel stir fry meal.

- For lunch, Goertz Haus in Grimes is located in an old church. Diners are seated in an art gallery featuring paintings by local artists. The girls can also do some light shopping at the Goertz Haus%26#39; jewelry stand, gift shop and flower shop.

- For a splurge, the girls could grill their own steaks at Rube%26#39;s in Waukee.

Have fun and travel safely!

Sounds like All Play and Stellas would both be good.

Thanks !!
