Maytag sanitary cheese preserver

I need help with information on these cheese preservers. Were some made without the company name? When were cheese preservers made/

Thanks,

What the heck is a cheese preserver? A baggie or tupperware? And why would it be posted in the travel forum?

it would appear that some were made without the company name. I have one and it looks very similar to one of the four on ebay. They are asking about $125. for it but the present bid is only about $69.

As for when the cheese preservers were made, I think they were made in the early 1900%26#39;s although they may be older. For the person asking what they are, they are cheese preservers made in a time when refrigeration was not available for the average man

Since ';good'; cheese is a living thing, and pre-decent refrigeration, e.g., ice-box days, people put a solution of cider vinegar, salt %26amp; water in the bottom, then rested the block of cheese on the ridges - it kept cheese from getting hard - I just found one at a swap-meet/flea market [in almost perfect condition except for a small spider] - asked how much they wanted for it, they said $3 but he%26#39;d take $2 so I bought it!!!!
