Hotel Pattee

We stayed here last August for my husbands 50th. We enjoyed our stay and were thinking about going again only to find out when I went to there website they are no longer in operation. Does anyone know the story?

Hotel Pattee

Hi,

Sorry to say, but the Hotel Patee closed around Christmas. I guess they had been losing money for a long time, after spending a million dollars in renovation when they opened it.

It%26#39;s sad, it was a beautiful hotel. Rumor had it that some other people were looking into buying it, but to date, no further word on that.

Hotel Pattee reopened in July under new management. The restaurant, David%26#39;s Milwaukee Diner, has reopened as well. It looks like they have been busy and I have heard great reports on the restaurant as well.

This is great news. Hope to go back in February 2009 for our Anniversary. We had a good time when we stayed there a couple years ago for the hubby%26#39;s Birthday. Davids restaurant had a great mushroom pasta dish as well.

The hotel is back open and in good form. I was just there a couple of weeks ago for a wedding. The staff is friendly and the hotel rooms have cool themes. There were a bunch of us there so we took a tour of all our rooms. They are all pretty and very well kept up. We also had fun with the old-style bowling alley in the basement, where they have two lanes for the games.

We didn%26#39;t eat in the restaurant outside of the reception. The reception had really good food. We grabbed lunch at a bbq place on Willis Ave and it was great!

There%26#39;s a bit of shopping to be done in the downtown and especially across the street at the Thymes Remembered tea room.

We also went across the street to the pub for an after-hours cocktail.

I hope the hotel can keep going, as it%26#39;s a great experience.
