Pella Tulip Festival?

We are planning to visit the Pella Tulip Festival in early May. Does anyone have any opinions or suggestions about it?

Pella Tulip Festival?

Pella is an attractive, clean, small town and the Tulip Festival is a fun annual event. One day (or a partial day) at the festival should allow plenty of time for you to take in the Dutch atmosphere and enjoy the festivities. The tulips should be beautiful, if the weather cooperates so that they bloom to peak during the festival. Make sure that you eat some letters (a pastry) or other Dutch treats while you%26#39;re there.

Since you%26#39;re coming all of the way from PA, you may also want to spend some time in Des Moines. It%26#39;s only about a half an hour%26#39;s drive from Pella. If you look through the Des Moines forum on TripAdvisor you will find many suggestions on what to do there. Pella is also an hour to an hour and a half away from the Amana Colonies (seven German Mennonite communities with lots of crafts and family style German restaurants) and Madison Co. (where you can see the John Wayne birthplace and the famous covered bridges).

Enjoy your trip and we%26#39;ll put in an order for some good weather while you%26#39;re visiting.

Pella Tulip Festival?

Pella takes pride in their festival and they take into consideration flowering times so that there is a high probability that certain varieties of tulips will still be in bloom during the festival. Last year was especially good since it had been a cool spring. It does get crowded, so if you want to enjoy the flowers at your leisure I suggest Friday afternoon.

You definitely have eat a Dutch Letter. There is a Dutch restaurant in town, but I cannot remember the name. It was in a converted house. I do remember the food was good.
