Place to stay during football weekend?

I need 2 rooms for 4 guys who are planning a trip to the Iowa/PSU game. Everything in Iowa City and surrounding areas seem to be booked.

We%26#39;ll be driving in from Chicago area and will want to stay somewhere either in Iowa City or east of there. Not north, south or west.

The only place along 80 looks to be in Walcott. There are only a couple of reviews on hotels there.

Any advice would be appreciated. Looks like we%26#39;re down to the Comfort or Days Inn Walcott - both get spotty reviews.

Any ideas on last minute rooms that might be available?

My suggestion would be to stay in Davenport or Bettendorf. You%26#39;ll be about 55 - 60 miles from Iowa City, but just a few miles further than Walcott and you should have better hotel and entertainment options.

Good luck!

Cedar Rapids has tons of hotels.Try to get one on the south end.You will be about 20 minutes from U of Iowa then.

I would also consider Muscatine Iowa. It%26#39;s about 12 miles of the interstate, and you can hop on HWY 6 and head right into IC. It%26#39;s a fairly good size town and the Holiday Inn there is very decent. It%26#39;s east and a tad south of IC. Have fun, go Hawks.

I would definately choose Davenport/Quad Cities area.

As previously stated, it will cut off an hour drive on your way back to Chicago. There are several hotels right off the Brady Street exit as your are on the West edge of the Quad Cities. If you have any questions let me know. The Iowa City Hotels usually fill up rather quickly on a gameday. Kinnick is a good place to see a game.
