We were in town for an overnight; drove downtown to the Front Street Brewery; nothing special; the food, beer, and service was average at best.

I have not been to the Front Street Brewery in a few years, but I think you are being too kind. The Blue Cat Brew Pub in Rock Island has much better ambiance, beer and food. The Bent River brew pub in Moline brews the best beer in the area, but it is a bit of a dive. A Bent River beer is usually on tap at Old Chicago in Bettendorf if you want nicer surroundings and are willing to pay a premium for it.

i agree about bent river. they by far have the best beer.or even blue cat in rock island. visited front street once and havent been back. i had bad service and thought i think locals have over rated that place. not impressed. bent river is usually full of hippies and people who smell bad. i like to get a growler to go from there. but id also have to say bent river has far and away the worste service in the area. unless you know the peson working behind the bar you could easily wait 20 mins on a thursday evening before you get a beer.
