We have to eat healthy to live, so...we%26#39;re always on the lookout for a food c0-0p or any organic place to shop or eat....:)

There%26#39;s a Panera Bread in the Coral Ridge Mall and a good coop (New Pioneer) in Coralville. Both are located along Hwy.6. Iowa City (just east of Coralville) has several vegetarian restaurants, including the Red Avocado and another New Pioneer Coop location. Downtown Iowa City also has many restaurants that offer vegetarian options on their menus. I have a vegan friend who particularly recommends Venuto%26#39;s on the Iowa City pedestrian mall.

As for coffee houses, there are several House of Aromas (which has bubble tea in addition to coffee) and Java House locations in Iowa City/Coralville in addition to Caribou and Starbucks.

Venuto%26#39;s isn%26#39;t around anymore. Lots of coffee places as noted. Java House (my favorite) has multiple locations-downtown IC, eastside IC, Mormen Trek IC, off of Oakdale in Coralville, even in the hospital.

There are several restaurants in town which participate in the Buy Fresh Buy Local program, purchasing most of their ingredients from local farmers, who while not always certified organic use substainable practices. Check www.edibleiowa. for links and information.

Two that you might enjoy, although they%26#39;re a a tick above casual dining, are 126 and Devotay, both in the downtown area.

Also, the Saturday farmers market provides the makings of an alfresco meal (and is quite the scene.)
