My son will be spending the summer at the University of Iowa. We would like to visit with him for a day or two, then move on to a luxury hotel within driving distance for 3 days or so. Any suggestions?

I%26#39;ve heard great feedback on the Hotel Vetro in Iowa City, if you don%26#39;t yet have a place to stay while visiting your son.
Within a 2 hr. radius of Iowa City, in order of proximity, are:
- The Raj spa in Fairfield, if Ayerveda is of interest to you
- The Royal Amsterdam Hotel in Pella
- A Renaissance, several Marriotts, the Hotel Ft. Des Moines and an Embassy Suites in Des Moines/West Des Moines. Des Moines is a great central place to stay to take day trips to Madison Co. (to see the covered bridges), the buffalo herd at the Neal Smith Wildlife Refuge and Pella (a cute Dutch village).
