Walleye fishing in May

Was wondering if there is any good walleye fishing the first two weeks in May. Can be cold then and would like to get out from winter cabin fever.

Walleye fishing in May

Walleye Fishing is always good in Okoboji area. The season is just opening in May there. Usually its around the first weekend in May and there is an annual Great Walleye Weekend. There is a two day fishing tourny and some walleye are released with tags for cash prizes if caught. You should be able to find more information on the net about the event. Otherwise fishing should be great given the season would be just opening. The lakes are big area so finding a good spot where they are biting might be a task but ask around and people will usually let you know what they have heard. A good place to check also is O%26#39;Shucks on Hwy 86 towards the southwest side of West Lake. They are a larger bait and tackle shop/gas station and would know where people are saying to go.
