Durey Inn

Has anyone stayed at the Durey inn that opened up recently? Is it a safe part of town?

I%26#39;m not familiar with a place by that name, but there is a Drury Inn in West Des Moines that is brand new. It%26#39;s in an upscale area called West Glen, near I-35 and Mills Civic Pkwy. Of course you%26#39;re smart to lock your car doors and take normal safety precautions anywhere you stay, but West Glen is a very nice area that should be safe.

Durey Inn

I have stayed at a number of Drury Inns and been well satisfied. Hot breakfasts, high speed internet, indoor pools make for a pretty good visit. They are a step above my usual Comfort Inn. I have not stayed in West Des Moines.

Living in the Des Moines area all of my life, I believe the Durey Inn you are speaking of is indeed close to Jordan Creek Town Center (aka Jordan Creek Mall) located in West Des Moines, IA.

In my opinion, this area is the nicest, prettiest and newest area of West Des Moines, IA, with easy access to the airport and/or interstate. Safety would/is not be a concern of mine while I visit this area. It is an upper-middle to high-class community.

There are a few other hotels close by the mall, so I would review the website for recommendations - as all of the nearby hotels will be in new/like new condition.

Shopping is plentiful anywhere within 15 minutes of this area, so plan accordingly. Best Buys, Old Navy, American Eagle, Hollister, Pottery Barn, Younkers, Victoria Secret, Gap/Baby Gap, Target, Wal-Mart, the list goes on and on. There is also another nice mall (named Valley West Mall) located a short drive from Jordan Creek, still in West Des Moines, IA. Valley West is smaller than Jordan Creek but offers a JC Penney and other stores not found within Jordan Creek (and vice versa).

There is plenty of choices when it comes to dining and all are located nearby. Many of the restaurants are very unique to this region. You won%26#39;t go hungry!

Inside Jordan Creek, the mall offers beautiful movie theaters and the also offers a free children%26#39;s playcenter on the first of it%26#39;s two levels.

Hi - I live in a housing area just north of the new Drury Inn. Although I have not stayed at the new Drury - it is lovely and I would highly recommend it. The Drury is located in a new shopping area called West Glen - totally safe and it is next to a boulevard of shops and boutiques. Super Target is in the same shopping center. Also within walking distance, is the Funny Bone Comeday Club, about two nightclubs and a new restaurant that just opened called ';Dueling Pianos'; Fun, Fun place. Also our new Jordan Creek Mall just west of the Drury.

As mentioned previously, it is just off I-35 (Exit 70) so very easy to access. You will travel east on I-80, then take I-35 south to Kansas City when you get to the west edge of DM and then take your first exit - #70 - Mills Civic Parkway. The Drury is just off to your right as you exit.
